Song of The Week

roll out the red carpet...
cue on the spotlight... proceed center stage to that lone microphone embraced by the fanciest silk scarf you've ever seen...
here's another unreleased cut from one of the artists that i just love...
retro empowerment has never been more cool!

Call Me
by Regine Velasquez
Covers Volume 2

think midnight blue mascara, one-line-too-dark eye liner, leather ensemble, the meanest steel toe pumps, and your very own set of groupies!
kind'a reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's Since You've Been Gone (another fave of mine) upgraded to a glam rock caliber...

i wanna see the songbird do this live... a powerful sustain before the last chorus is enough to make every fan wish for the same vocal chords as her.

this is one of the few cuts in her new album that i can say i am familiar with...
collectively, the album's quite different from what we've come to know as her style...

but that's what an artist does... grow, expand, think out of the box, reinvent, and basically... do what they haven't done before.

as for this particular song... may the powers that be have mercy on my eardrums.
